Domaine Les Volets Rouges

Domaine Les Volets Rouges is a young and passionate project in Fleurie, one of the most renowned crus in Beaujolais. The winery was founded in December 2022 by Antoine and Marie, a couple united by their love of the Gamay grape and the desire to create wines that reflect the purity and energy of the terroir.

They cultivate 4.11 hectares spread over eight small, steep plots with old vines – several over 50 years old, some up to a century old – planted in granite-rich soil with pink decomposed granite and sand, typical of Fleurie. From the start, Antoine and Marie have worked with respect for nature and a strong belief in sustainability. They are now in their third year of converting to certified organic and biodynamic cultivation. All work in the vineyards is done by hand, and their goal is to achieve balance in the soil to allow the Gamay grape to express itself as purely and naturally as possible.

In the cellar, the gentle work continues. Vinification is done without added sulfites, and the wines are fermented and aged in concrete eggs, steel tanks and old demi-muids (large oak barrels), which preserves freshness, structure and the distinct character of the terroir. With minimal intervention, they create wines that are alive, fruity and full of energy – true reflections of both the vintage and the growing area. The premiere vintage of 2023 marks the beginning of an exciting adventure for Les Volets Rouges. Their mission is clear: to offer natural, authentic wines that speak directly to wine lovers with their honesty, freshness and respect for both the grape and the soil. Fleurie has gained two new voices – and they sing with conviction.
